ABOUT ME

Hmm. What  to say? I'm a born and raised Oregonian. I am a wife and a  mother to four beautiful children. I'm an  avid coffee drinker, and the proud owner to a beautiful exotic Persian cat. I'm also a collector of  memories. Life is a collection of moments. Sad and beautiful, unforgettable, all are impermanent and all are equally important to the stories of our lives.One completes the other, like pages in a book. I love to create and photography is a perfect outlet for that. A photo is not only visual, it can evoke emotions. Make you remember how a cold January day feels on your face. The way your mother's perfume smelled.The steady warmth of cement under your sneakers  on a summer day.Running through wet grass, watching rain drops race each other down a  window. The deep melancholy that sits in your chest like a weight.The happiness that bubbles out of you at unexpected moments. Tear drops on your eyelashes. I try to draw those feelings out in my artwork and use them as a common grounding experience to tell a story. It might be my story, it might be yours, it could be a number of different stories all rolled into one image.Some people use paper, some people use songs, some use their hands. I use a lens, imagination, and I  let the story take on it's own life.
